Reason #68: Toronto Raptors’ New Coaching Staff
After a dreadful season for the Raptors, they look to steer things around in the Air Canada Centre with their new coach, Dwane Casey. Toronto finished last in their division and second last in their conference with a final record of 22-60 behind their former coach Jay Triano. The 54-year-old Casey was formerly the assistant coach of the victorious Mavericks during their championship run. Toronto’s coaching staff will have their hands full this upcoming season. They will be hoping to continue seeing progress coming from their top scorers in Andrea Bargnani and DeMar DeRozan, while also hoping their 19-year-old draft pick, Jonas Valanciunas blossoms into a crafty big man to help out their depleted front court. P.J. Carlesimo, Alex English and Eric Hughes will be some of the assistant coaches aiding Casey’s duties for this upcoming season.
